about humanity...

totally crap lah. who cares about it, man? think one would be worried how to feed themselves than to feed the developing countries, aid in emergencies, economical reform, social security and welfare shit. save yourself before others LAH.
the international red cross organization was the theme for my english paper today. damn boring, imagine 1 summary, 1 synthetic essay, 1 reading comprehension plus 1 essay on it -_-". lucky thing i didnt eat lunch before sitting for the paper. if not i might have just fell asleep writing it halfway.
on a personal note, I'm not the sort to do volunteer work.
Not so free ah. jia pa bo sai bang meh?
If i want to save someone, let that someone be myself.
Ironically thou, I have to admire those who selflessly help others. thought sometimes I feel that they are dumb. Well...guess not everyone is soooo sell-fish like mua truly.

I have downed...

1 heinekien 6-pack
2 crown lager 6-packs
1 cascade premium 6-pack
3 glasses of wine

and now onto my kalua 4-pack

since 24th january

haha...

cheers

E = MC2 I suppose...

well according to jayaxe, any formula might just do the trick..haha.. here are some of the actual formulas I have to remember...

PV = nRT

P1V1 = P2V2

Densities of gases directly proportional to M.R

Density = Mass / Volume

V = moles x 22.41 (at S.T.P) or 24.47 (at 25C)

PV / T is constant for any P,V or T

p (gas) = total P x volume fraction / p (gas) = nx / (nx +ny) x final Pressure

P1V1 / T1 = P2V2 / T2

pH = -log [H+]

[H+] = 10 -pH

Kw = [H+] [OH-]

I.E vs E.N

unless you are keen to know more about the properties of elements.
please do not read the following post.
You have been warned.
Ionization energy increases across the period. Due to the increase in nuclear charge (1 proton for each element across the period), although the no. of electron shells remains the same. Hence, making the element harder to lose even the most loosely bounded valence electrons due to the positive nuclei pulling stronger on the valence electrons.
Ionization energy decreases down the group. Due to the increasing no. of electron shells down the group, hence making the outermost shell electrons even further away from the nuclei, thus easier to remove down the group.
Also, the presence of increasing no. of "in-between" electrons down the group, causes a replusion effect on the outermost electrons, hence helping outermost electrons move out of the shells even easier.
Electronegativity decreases down the group. Due to increasing no. of eletron shells on elements, which has weaker attraction for the in-bound electrons due to increased distance between the shell and the nuclei. Extra distance weakens the attraction for inbound electrons.
Elements at the bottom also has greater no. of "in-between" electrons, hence causing a great repulsion effect on in-bound electrons, therefore lesser attraction.

Total volume of music files on my computer :
2.89GB – 749 Songs, used to have a lot more until my previous PC crashed. Damn sadded.

ka chuaz: the origin

here's the scoop

the nick originated back in '99 on a field-trip to Beijing. The trip was that of a combined effort by the cluster "zone" that my secondary school was in.

on one of the days, we arrived at an indoor shooting range; it's those type of range where you move around to shoot targets, not those singular circular targets with radius. heehee.there were prizes for the top 5 shooters

cut the story short, i came in second and the "prize" was a plastic housefly...you know..the flying type..insect..
we had dinner at this chinese restaurant, so after dinner I went to disturb this new found friend of mine, we shall call her Cauliflower, 'cause her actual name sounds kinda like it.
earlier that year, we had a talk regarding some sort of "activities" which can result in some diseases and that 1 of those was nicknamed "cauliflower" too.haha..you know..initials are "G.W"

had a good time making fun of her name, before she found out what was the actual meaning of "Cauliflower", courtesy of 1 of my school mates [damn dumbo sia, tell her for what]

Me: *puts the plastic housefly on her shoulders*

Cauliflower: *EEEEE....you stupid ka zhua, why you put that ka zhua on me !!*

Me *Wah lau, you blind ah, that's a housefly lah, not ka zhua*

Cauliflower: *Don't care lah, you stupid ka zhua*

after that faithful dinner, she started to call me "Ka Zhua" every single time she sees me. Soon it spread to my school, then my closer classmates started calling me that too.

The nick survived through till this day, thou I'm no longer in contact with Cauliflower since the field trip [back then we didn't have MSN messenger yet mah]
Since then, I refined it to "Kachuaz"

P.S: at least it was ka zhua, can you imagine "hor xin" as in housefly in hokkien. kao. super "DUH" then. I shall consider myself lucky. lol.

I Thought It Happened Again..

This morning I stepped into the shower, tried to switched on the lights and ventilator..but the switches didnt work.. oh nevermind...

Stepped into the kitchen, wanted to get my breaky...realized the kettle was not working...oh nevermind...no coffee this morning...

Stepped into the school, there was no light [no, we didnt use torchlight, deviate abit here ah, suddenly remembered that song in NPCC that we used to sing, "There was 1 night, there was no light, so we use torchlight..." ah...sweet memories of sec sch], back to the post, the corridors had mini lights on...oh nevermind...still can see, not that blind...

At that point in time, I thought that it might be just another 1 of those power cuts in the area...which is not that uncommon over here....

Stepping into class, 1 of my classmates told me,
"Hey, you know what happened last night to Ms. X ? She had her roof blown off last night."
[not stating any names, 'cause I'm not that familiar to these people]

At that point in time, the caffeine-deprived me suddenly sober up and laughed damn loudly [ya lah, I know very bad, but visualizing a roof getting blown off a other-wise completely solid house is rather amusing]

Later today I realized what happened...

It seems that a Tornado struck South-West of W.A, alot of damages overnight on the south western shorelines,properties lost, the highway linking the southern suburbs to Perth City is apparently closed, 'cause there is a construction crane there, that is on the verge of toppling over.

Humming 龙卷风 - 周杰伦 now....

i wonder..

if my housemates think i'm nuts..

'cause i'm either talking [it seems] or singing to myself behind my closed doors these days.
put on my cheapo $9 headphones from Kmart and blasting the mp"sans"
singing to myself, sometimes through the night.

god, I'm missing Kbox in SG

Good Mornin' W.A

en route to school this morning, heard the following conversation between 2 radio DJs

DJ 1 : "yesterday in los angelas, a highway speed chase occurred somewhere late into the night, the LAPD police officer managed to stop the runaway car after firing 96 rounds on it, the driver died from 4 fatal gunshot wounds"

DJ 2 : "seems that the number of police shoot outs are occurring quite frequently this days, I remembered that a month ago, there was this other incident where a LAPD police officer shot at this fella on the walkway whom was eating a pear. Officer claimed that he saw the man eating a grenade? Man died from the shot."

DJ 1 : [sarcastically] "that pear must have tasted damn deliciously explosive"

shessh...after that, I didn’t know to frown or laugh at the joke ??
By the way, W.A’s radio stations actually have people calling in to warn other drivers of speed cameras’ locations. LOL.

of paranoia

was having a class on infectious diseases today, and i was reminded of the time during my course of study back in SG.

after 3 yrs of exposure to laboratory work, it's hard not to be paranoid over airborne germs; bacteria, yeast, fungus and all others. there is a tendancy to visualize movement of organisms everytime. Occupational paranoia, you can call it.

for example,

if i see someone sneezing just infront of me, i can almost visualise the particles travelling through the air and then landing on myself. closing your mouth at the point of sneezing is not good enough actually, the particles would have already flown over to the end of the room, even before your reflex to close the mouth. Hence, it really isn't that necessary to close your mouth when sneezing. It doesnt help really. Manners yup, other than that it's really useless. lol.

after this particular prac on microbiology [back in SG; where we actually tested chicken rice for bacteria], we spread the grinded chicken rice over culture dishes and left them to incubate overnight.

results: we actually had colonies growing the culture, bits of them, not those full colonies.
conclusion: there are bacteria on chicken rice from FC2. haha.

basically lah, its hard to be totally rid of bacteria. they are everywhere.

happy breathing bacteria. cheers.

Vote For The Pink Salt

The weekends are here once again. Thank God.
Been feeling rather weird this week. Suddenly so mellow banana. Don’t really know how to put it in words. Just glad the week is over.

Anyway I wanted to blog about this reality TV show that I have been following for the past 2 months now. The second season of My Restaurant Rules.

While you guys back in SS are watching The Amazing Race 7 [which I think finish o-readi, don’t tell me who won cause over here they just aired episode 1 last night, I will wack any fella who tells me.

1 couple from 5 states of Australia pitting against each other to be the lone winner of a brand new restaurant in their own state [meaning they get to keep the existing restaurant] and an additional AUD 100 grand

Perth is out. Haha. Good riddance. That mother & son pair was irritating the cess out of me. Know nuts about restaurant management. Total sore to watch.

It’s now down to Adelaide, Brisbane, Melbourne & Sydney. Facing elimination this Sunday is Sydney & Brisbane. I really hope Brisbane gets the boot, think they that damn good. Shitty really.

Hence….

Save Pink Salt~!! Go Bella & Evan~!!

Cashiers aren't a brainy bunch

In a space of 2 days, I experienced 3 cash-register "floppers".

Earned 1 free burger, got under-charged moisturizer and over-charged on 2 bags of supreme cheeze Doritos'

Last friday,

Paid the cafeteria lady $5 for a burger which cost $3.50,
However, she punched $10 on the till and I got back $6.50 in change. Power.
Hence, 1 free burger & $1.50 in addition for me queuing up for the burger???

Yesterday,

Bought a bottle of moisturizer, a supposing bonus pack, free 250ml, sale price at $12.95. Initially wanted to pay using efthpos [equivalent of NETS in SG], she told me “sorry, you have to buy a minimum of $10”

Now wait a minute…I thought that the moisturizer was $12.95? Cause I didn’t have enough cash, borrowed money from a friend, paid and left. Hence, I was under-charged $7. which is = to increase in savings by $7.

At the supermarket, bought 2 packs of nachos, paid and left the place. [Should have checked the receipt, but I didn’t]. Reach home and realized I kena charged for additional 2 MORE packs of nachos. Damn duh. Hence, I was over-charged $5, now which is = to decrease in savings by $7.

Wasted. Should have saved $7, instead end up save $2 only. Blardy hell.

Anyway, will be hoping to be served by many more “reckless” cashiers. But this time, I will check my receipt. Can under-charge but not over-charge.

Moral of the story,

Cashiers here can’t multi-task for nuts. Get distracted and they end up making boo boos.

By the way, the tandoori chicken burger tasted weird [beet-root coloured sauce??], wacked it down anyway. It’s free after all, isn’t it?
